Past Achievements

  • The Washington Indoor Clean Air Act---No Smoking in Public Buildings.....It passed in 1985. I worked on this act for thirteen years.
  • Water Resources Legislation. This was a compliance issue with federal monies that would be awarded to the cattlemen and the ranchers in Washington on the 208 Federal Monies Act. Neither group wanted to have anything to do with federal rules and regulations. Several ranchers finally agreed and in the end all agreed to participate. We saved the top soil of the ranches and the land.
  • College Savings Act. This permitted parents, grandparents, and anyone else to buy bonds beginning with $1,000.00 to save for your favorite child's college education. Several states called to get a copy to pass in their state. I purchased eight college savings bonds for my four grandchildren.
